Pembrokeshire has many small harbours to explore. Solva is a must on that list. This attractive and peaceful harbour is dotted with small fishing and sailing boats. There isn’t much of a beach at Solva but the harbour wall is a great place to sit and watch the sunset through the small wooded valley that frames the mouth of the sea. Enjoy watching the fishing boats come and go as they deliver fresh lobster and crab to the near by restaurants. For a special evening out then the Old Pharmacy offers fine cuisine with a well deserved reputation. The village itself is a good place to spend an afternoon, with plenty of small shops and small galleries to look around - you can get a true taste of Pembrokeshire.

You can join the Pembrokeshire coastal path from the west side of the harbour, head along the path past the ruined lime kilns and continue through the trees up to the cliff top. The picture post card view of boats bouncing on the water may inspire you to take to the seas, if so then Solva sail boats offer courses. They have opportunities for youngsters and adults, you can choose from one or two day short courses on a either a sail boat or a power boat.

This area of North Pembrokeshire was once a thriving with woollen mills. Solva was no different and currently boasts the oldest mill in Pembrokeshire. Head inland from the village towards Middle mill and treat yourself to some quality woven products from Solva Woollen Mill.
