As its name suggests, Sandy Haven is a small and secluded sandy beach at the mouth of an estuary teeming with aquatic life. Access to the estuary is easily reached via a slipway, however venturing onto the golden shores of Sandy Haven beach is a little trickier, down a passage of rocky steps. Once on the seashore take time to explore the many rock pools of Sandy Haven, abundant in a vast variety of anemones, seaweeds and crabs. Although the turquoise waters may be tempting, take care when bathing in the waters of Sandy Haven as currents can at times be fast and unpredictable. For the keen angler on holiday in the Pembrokeshire National Park, Sandy Haven can reap many rewards in the form of a wide variety of fish, including bass, and mullet.

Situated only a ten minute drive from Sandy Haven is the seaside port of Milford Haven, a small yet busy town with many exciting attractions, such as the Torch Theatre, a popular venue at the heart of Pembrokeshire’s diverse arts scene.
