Priory Beach is the beach to escape to. Situated on Caldey Island, a monastic island off the coast from Tenby. An active lay community supports a busy monastery on Caldey and the beach is your landing point on the island and it instantly makes you feel like you have arrived home. The shoreline here is of golden sand and it is a wild beach perfect for young children to explore. The water is very good for swimming or bathing and due to it being on the Island is not often busy.

Wild flowers surround the beach in rough and wild hedgerows full of wildlife. The Island has always benefited from a variety of fauna and the islanders have embraced this by creating a range of cosmetics which can be bought from the island gift shop. They also make chocolate on the island so be sure to visit the chocolate factory for a tasty treat.

To reach Caldey Island take a boat from Tenby Harbour. Tickets cost around £11 for an adult. After spending a morning on Priory beach head off to the tea gardens for a bite to eat and on your way stop off at the Post Office to learn more about this special Island.
