Narberth Museum is located in the heart of the Pembrokeshire town of Narberth. Narberth is only 10 minutes from Tenby and around 20 minutes from Carmarthen and Haverfordwest.
Settled in its new home, ‘The Bonded Stores’, which was once a building with a sole purpose - to keep people out! Stored inside would have been hundreds of kegs full of valuable but duty-free whisky, brandy and rum! Only when the Revenue Officer and the Stores Manager were both present with their keys could the double locks be opened. The new Narberth Museum has chosen the symbol of the two keys as its logo - and now those same heavy doors are are thrown open and everyone is welcome to discover for themselves the treasures within the modern day museum!
The perfect day out if looking for wet weather activities - Narberth Museum boasts a number of facilities including, An extensive exhibition space which tells the story of the town and its’ people over the centuries, whilst there is also a temporary exhibition area that gives you the opportunity to view items in the museum’s collection that are not on permanent display. It also allows the museum to host visiting exhibitions and to vary the Narberth Museum experience.
There is also a museum shop which stocks an extensive range of locally produced and inspired gifts, souvenirs and books to remember your experience by!
There is also a coffee shop within the museum, serving a range of locally-sourced teas, coffees and cakes! The perfect place to refuel after lots of exploring!
Family and local history enthusiasts can continue their research in our quiet research room with extensive archive. Internet access is also available.
The building is also accessible for wheelchair users and offers baby changing and buggy storage facilities for families.
The Museum firmly believes that learning is a continual process that spans generations. With this in mind, they are constantly updating their program of workshops, events and activities for children, families and adults of all ages.
