Monkstone is a beautiful beach. The views stretch for miles around and the clear water sparkles in the summer sunshine. Forget the city at this quiet beach and relax on the golden sand, and feel refreshed after a lazy day in this tranquil setting. The beach is a quiet alternative to nearby Saundersfoot or Tenby and is a haven for those seeking a peaceful beach, it is a Marine conservation recommended beach and has plenty of rock pools to explore as well as a good stretch of sand to play games on or build sand castles/sculptures. Watch out for the incoming tide though, it's easy to get cut off here.

The water at Monkstone is particularly popular for fishing. Bass fishing is especially good after a storm so the beach does attract many fishers. It is also a relatively good place to swim with only the occasional swell. The water also lends itself to a gentle surf, so if you are just starting out with the body boards, then you could try the waves at Monkstone. Those quiet days on a beach in Wales would not be complete without a spot of foraging. This beach is particularly good for the amateur forager so follow these tips and get stuck in!

There are no facilities at Monkstone beach so travel to nearby Saundersfoot for your essentials for a day on the beach.
